Responsibilities

  • Lead valuation engagements across various industries, overseeing project scope, deliverables, timelines, and client communication to ensure high-quality results.
  • Review and develop complex valuation models, including DCF, market approach (comparable companies and precedent transactions), and cost-based valuation techniques.
  • Manage and coordinate interaction with clients (finance teams, top management) and other advisors (audit, tax, legal) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on modeling, analysis, and presentation of findings, while ensuring team development and performance.
  • Conduct and review industry research and financial analysis to support valuation assumptions and conclusions, ensuring sound commercial judgment.
  • Prepare and review client deliverables, including valuation reports, presentations, proposals, and other project documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, participating in client pitches, and identifying opportunities for expanding valuation service offerings.

Requirements

  • Higher education, preferably in Finance / Economics;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in BIG4, Valuation consulting firm, Bank (corporate lending, collateral and risk departments), Private Equity, Internal Corporate Finance Department and / or 5 years of relevant experience in Industry (oil & gas, power & utilities, metals & mining, industrial plant, etc.);
  • Knowledge of valuation methodology and techniques: DCF, different approaches to valuation;
  • Good understanding of financial statements and interconnections between them, knowledge of financial accounting, good understanding of IFRS, US GAAP;
  • Highly developed analytical, quantitative, and valuation skills, and a solid foundation in accounting;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pay strong attention to detail;
  • Ready for travelling;
  • Fluent English and Russian / Kazakh
