KPMG's Strategy & Operations group is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Financial Services (FS) team in Astana. In this role, you’ll work with industry leaders to deliver strategic transformations, operational improvements, and regulatory solutions. You’ll mentor junior team members, develop innovative solutions, and directly engage with banking and FS clients across Central Asia and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and review the work of junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional development.
  • Engage with banking and FS clients to identify challenges and deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.
  • Lead strategic projects, including business plan development, financial analysis, and strategic sessions for clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses such as competitor benchmarking, business model reviews, and customer profiling.
  • Develop financial models and perform scenario/sensitivity analyses to support client decision-making.
  • Present findings and actionable insights to client stakeholders, driving strategic transformations and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is highly preferred.
  • Bring at least 5 years of experience in management consulting, banking, or financial services.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, including expertise in financial modeling and strategic planning tools.
  • Possess exceptional problem-solving abilities and can approach complex challenges methodically.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with familiarity in advanced data analysis tools (preferred).
  • Hold or are pursuing certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or CIMA (preferred).
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills in Russian and English.
  • Have a deep understanding of the banking sector, including financial instruments, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Are adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of leading in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
