Director in Tax Technology

KPMG is expanding its Tax & Legal Technology practice across the region and is seeking a senior professional based in Kazakhstan to lead the go-to-market strategy for technology-enabled tax and legal services.

The role focuses on driving business development, winning tax transformation and compliance-modernisation engagements, and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions, including KPMG Digital Gateway, automation and AI.

You will advise Board-level and C-suite clients on tax and legal function transformation, digitalisation, operating models and governance. Working closely with local, regional and global teams, you will expand the service portfolio, strengthen client relationships, and promote the adoption of digital tools and AI across the Tax & Legal practice.

• Lead the go-to-market strategy for Tax & Legal Technology solutions, including KPMG Digital Gateway, across the region.
• Identify new business opportunities, develop client proposals, lead pitches, and drive sales of technology-enabled tax transformation services.
• Advise C-suite and senior clients on tax function transformation, digitalisation, AI applications, and target operating models.
• Oversee the implementation of tax technology solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery and long-term client relationships.
• Develop and expand the Tax & Legal Technology service portfolio, including tax automation, ERP integration, and tax governance solutions.
• Lead and develop the technology team, promote the adoption of digital tools and AI within the practice, and collaborate with regional and global teams.

• University degree in Tax, Law, Economics, Business, IT, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in tax, tax technology, or related advisory services, with a strong track record in business development and client relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT/GST, tax compliance, and tax process transformation.
• Proven experience advising senior stakeholders and leading tax transformation or technology implementation projects.
• Practical understanding of AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their application in tax and legal services.
• Strong commercial, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent business English and willingness to work across regional markets.
