
Data Scientist, S&O (Strategy&Operations)

Responsibilities
Duties:
— Conduct analytical research and contribute to strategical decisions on country / economic sectors / company / investment project levels
— Undertake benchmarking of sectors and companies
— Build projections based on key assumptions, scenarios, and sensitivity analysis
— Develop predictive models using large datasets
— Work with large and complex datasets from multiple open sources, applying web scraping API
— Apply machine learning or econometric techniques to improve forecast accuracy and scenario modeling
— Develop dashboards and data visualizations for internal and client presentations
— Prepare presentations for projects and business proposals
— Prepare analytical reports, policy notes, or investment memos
Requirements
Requirements:
— Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or other related degree with quantitative focus. Advanced degree is a plus
— At least 3 years of experience in analytical roles, applying data analytics, data mining, forecasting techniques, building analytical or forecasting tools
— Strong analytical, quantitative, and structured problem-solving skills
— Hands-on experience in building complex models in Excel, strong command of analytical tools such as: Python, SQL, Web scraping tools (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Selenium etc.), Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.). Econometric software (EViews, Stata, R, or MATLAB) knowledge is a plus
— Experience working with large statistical datasets, including public economic data, national statistics, trade data, and custom databases
— Ability to derive conclusions from large data sets, interpret and explain analytical outputs to non-technical audiences
— Demonstrated capacity to write clear and structured analytical reports and presentations
— Ability to formulate, test, and validate hypotheses using data-driven methods and analytical reasoning
— Some understanding of macroeconomic indicators, sectoral data, and interdependencies in emerging markets
— Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple workstreams
— Fluency in English, Russian
